Women, Whole Health, and the Workplace: A Mental Health Awareness Month Conversation

The month of May is both Mental Health Awareness Month and National Women’s Health Month–and while individuals and organizations have made incredible progress to break down the stigma and shame that surrounds these topics, research shows there’s still more work to be done.

In fact, women have twice the lifetime rates of depression and most anxiety disorders, and these conditions are often linked to physical changes women go through, from menstruation to menopause. 58% report these experiences have impacted their mental health, with 40% indicating this hinders their ability to focus on work. Left unaddressed, these issues take a serious toll not only on women’s health and well-being but also on the health of organizations.

On May 20, join Calm for a special virtual event featuring renowned psychologist Dr. Julie Smith, journalist and New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Wallace, and Calm Mindfulness Coach Mel Mah.

In this candid conversation, we’ll explore:

  • The powerful connection between physical and mental health
  • Tools and resources to support women’s unique health challenges
  • Strategies for building community and connection in the workplace and beyond
